THE SESSION is for YOU!

We’re expecting singers from their mid-20s to Retirees. [& for our CPAs out there needing hard numbers…18+up] 😊

Some of us have been singing for years. Some haven’t sung with a group since high school or college. Others come from bands, musical theater, worship teams, community choirs or somewhere completely different.

There’s no “right age” or “right background” for THE SESSION. If you’re ready to sing, we’d love to hear you.

Pop, R&B and fresh takes on familiar songs—with some seasonal music worked in during the holidays.

We’re choosing music that’s fun to rehearse, musically satisfying to sing and sounds amazing when we put it together.

We’ll announce our set list following auditions and before our first rehearsal.

Yeah…but it’s not scary! You don’t have to read music…you don’t need to be a soloist…you don’t need to have ever taken a voice lesson…you don’t need any prior performance experience…you just need to be able to do these 3 things:

1 – Sing On Pitch
2 – Hear & Hold Your Harmony Part
3 – Love Music & Love People

You’ll come in for a brief VOCAL ASSESSMENT with our Directors. About a week before auditions, we’ll send you a specific song and vocal part to prepare, along with the music and a rehearsal track so you’ll know exactly what to work on.

No solo audition piece required.

You’ll sing with a couple people from our team supporting you. It’s an informal time for us to get to know you, hear your voice and identify what parts will fit your range.

Nope. Reading music can definitely be helpful, but it isn’t required.

What’s more important is having a good ear—being able to sing on pitch, hear and hold your harmony part, and learn your music.

We’ll provide music and rehearsal tracks to help you learn your part and feel confident when we put everything together.

We’re expecting our Fall choir to be around 20–30 singers.

We’re less concerned about hitting a particular number than putting together the right mix of voices and creating a full, exciting sound.

And while THE SESSION is a brand-new choir with a brand-new vision, directing choirs isn’t new to us. We’ve been working with singers and directing choirs for years, and we’re excited to take that experience and create something fresh with THE SESSION.

~ We rehearse on Mondays from 8:15-9:45 PM.
~ Fall 2026 Rehearsals will begin on September 28th and go into mid-December.
~ Rehearsals are at Coastal Music Studios, 1006 Mission Avenue, Suite E, Oceanside, CA 92054

We’re currently exploring opportunities to perform on community stages, at local events and at other venues around the area.

We don’t want THE SESSION to live only inside our rehearsal space. Performing is part of the experience, and our goal is to get the choir out into the community and create some great opportunities to share what we’ve built together.

We’ll announce specific performance dates and locations as they’re confirmed.

We usually rehearse 10-12 weeks through the Fall & Spring seasons and book 1-3 performances.

Here is what we need from you when you’re part of THE SESSION:
~ Come to rehearsal every week (miss no more than 2 rehearsals per season)
~ Practice at home with recordings to learn your parts and memorize the songs
~ Be an awesome human and work together as a team member to support others around you

There is a fee to participate so we can cover the costs of paying professional Directors, providing rehearsal space, licensing music, providing sheet music, producing rehearsal tracks, management software subscriptions, insurance and administrative costs.

Membership Fee per Season
$240/singer (you can do 3 monthly payments of $80)

+$120 per additional family member (+$40/mo if doing 3 monthly payments)
