Coastal Music Studios is proud to be working with the City of Oceanside and helping facilitate the 2014 Create to Educate Performing Arts Contest.

Any student who attends school or an arts/music school in Oceanside is welcome to submit an entry. Just write an original song or rap, a skit or dramatic sketch, poem or spoken word piece having something to do with environmental awareness.

Top entries will get to perform their composition at the STAR Theater on Friday, April 25th! There will also be some pretty cool prizes…like a professional video made of the winner that will be shown in local theaters and other media outlets.

Even if you don’t live in Oceanside…if you take lessons or are involved in music at Coastal Music Studios…you are welcome to enter this contest!

Introducing the Oceanside Youth String Ensemble

We are very excited to announce a brand new performing group coming out of Coastal Music Studios….the Oceanside Youth String Ensemble.

Involvement in this FREE ensemble is by invitation or audition only and is open to High School and Jr. High Students.

Our Spring 2014 Session will include a couple performances in partnership with the City of Oceanside and their Earth Month events. We’re even in talks to potentially perform with the Landfill Harmonic Recycled Orchestra in the Fall. Our goal is to continue providing fun and incredible performing opportunities for this talented group of musicians.

The OYSE currently includes the following instruments:
– Violin
– Viola
– Cello
– Bass

Here is the rehearsal schedule for the Spring 2014 Session:

Introductory Meeting (Mandatory for Parents & Students) | 6:00 PM – Tues. March 4th
Rehearsal #1 | Wednesday, March 12th @ 7-8 PM
Rehearsal #2 | Wednesday, March 26th @ 7-8 PM
Rehearsal #3 | Wednesday, April 9th @ 7-8 PM
Rehearsal #4 | Wednesday, April 23rd @ 7-8 PM

Coin Drive 2014

Coin Drive Flyer Our daughter, Maggie, had the wonderful idea of starting a Coin Drive at the studio to help people in need around the world. Inspired by the World Vision Gift Catalogs we were sent around Christmastime, she has picked out several goals for us to work toward.

We’re always cleaning loose change out of our pockets and cars…so we thought there might be a few folks in our Coastal Music Community who would have a few cents here and there to toss in the jar as we save and send our spare change to change lives.

We’ll celebrate our goals with you throughout the year as we reach them together.

Here is a quick list (we’ve included links so you can read about what each gift will do) of the goals we’ve set to start off Coin Drive 2014:

Christmas 4 Kids 2013

We’re soooo very excited about this one… Saturday, December 14th, 2013 @ 7:00 PM.

Christmas 4 Kids is a benefit concert to help kids here in San Diego & Around Our World!

Celebrating the music of Christmas, the North County Children’s Choir and the CFS Children’s Choir will be joining forces…creating an Über-Choir 140 Voices Strong!!!

Admission is FREE…so come out and enjoy some great music and be a part of this special evening.

If you’re able, we would love for our “TICKET” to the concert to be a canned food item that we can donate to local charities that feed children here in North County.

Summer Camps 2013

SUMMER CAMPS 2013

We were so excited to offer our first year of Summer Day Camps! You can click on the image on the left to see our flyer and read more info on each camp.

Registration for the FREE Camps was incredible. We actually reached capacity (40 campers) for both of the free camp weeks and had waiting lists of 30-40 kids for each week. Macbeth and Spotlight were great weeks of learning and performing music!
