Homeschool ARTS Courses

Below are the Class/Course Descriptions for Homeschool ARTS classes currently being offered in our September Session. (November Session classes coming soon.)

  • You will need to register students for each class via our online booking system.
  • We will contact you to complete registration after September 1st.
  • No payment is due when registering online, but if you will be using Homeschool Charter Enrichment Funds, please request your PO/Enrichment Certificates as soon as you register.
  • There is a $15 Registration Fee Per Student each Semester.

SEPTEMBER SESSION (9/11/18 – 10/18/18)


STEAM Art  |  Tuesdays 9:00am  |  Ages 6-9

STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. In this series, artists will work individually and in collaboration to produce art that encompasses learning from a variety of subject matter.

Supplies Included


Broadway Tap   |  Tuesdays 9:00am  |  Ages 6-9

“Broadway Tap” is an introduction to Musical Theatre Style Tap Dancing. “Broadway Tap” is designed to help develop each student’s rhythm, dance style, and sound. Students will learn basic tap techniques, tap rhythms, and various tap combinations inspired by the tap dancing seen on the Broadway Stage. Students will not only be learning a unique dance style, but will be creating music by using their tap shoes as a percussion instrument.

Materials Needed: TAP SHOES, Clothing: Black, White, Grey, and/or Maroon Dance Clothing Required. Dance Shorts, Leggings, Dance Pants, Tank Tops, and/or T-Shirts are suggested.


Art Basics  |  Tuesdays 10:00am  |  Ages 6-9

This six week course is an introduction to the art fundamentals of color, value, line, texture, shape, space, and light. Each week, the students will have the opportunity to apply learned techniques while creating personalized pieces of artwork. Artists of all levels are welcome to participate in this class and advanced students will be given additional direction to explore these subjects at a deeper level.

Ballet  |  Tuesdays 10:00am  |  Ages 6-9

In Ballet, students will learn the fundamental characteristics of Ballet including: Ballet positions, correct body positions, lines, angles, turnout, toe pointing, and ballet choreography. This class is perfect for the student interested in learning Ballet Basics and the foundational principles of body movement and form. Students will learn Ballet and its ethereal qualities of flow and guided movement.

Materials Needed: BALLET SHOES, Black Leotard and Pink Tights Required


Acting/Improv  |  Tuesdays 11:00am  |  Ages 6-9

This course will cover the basic and beginning tools needed for a strong foundation in acting plus building the advanced skills of a well-rounded performer! We’ll take an in-depth look at the fundamentals of improv….and cover a wide range of techniques in collaborative acting.

Group Piano Classes  |  Tuesdays 11:00am  |  Ages 5-14

Group Piano Classes are designed for the beginner through early-intermediate student. Emphasizing individualized learning in a group context, students learn through camaraderie and community. While at-home practice is encouraged (not required), lessons in an experiential learning environment build skills quickly while having fun in an atmosphere of positive encouragement.

Maximum Class Capacity = 6

Materials Needed: Method Books at student’s individual level. Determined by the instructor during lessons.


Jazz Funk Dance  |  Tuesdays 11:00am  |  Ages 6-9

“Jazz Funk” is a fusion between Hip Hop and Jazz Dance. Students will learn the basics of both Jazz and Hip Hop. This class will give students an opportunity to feel confident on the dance floor. Students will learn fun “Jazz Funk” combinations, across the floor techniques, and improvisational techniques to help them express their own creativity through movement.

Materials Needed: JAZZ SHOES/TENNIS SHOES. Clothing: Black, White, Grey, and/or Maroon Dance Clothing Required. Dance Shorts, Leggings, Dance Pants, Tank Tops and/or T-Shirts are suggested.

Art through the Ages (Part I) |   Thursdays 10:00am  |  Ages 9-14

This series will look at art through man’s recorded history. In part one, students start with Stone Age art and move in chronological order to Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine, ending with the Middle Ages. Students will be supplied with instruction and materials to complete an art project relating to each time period introduced and discussed. *Part 2 and 3 will be offered in rotation of sessions following Part I. The courses do not need to be taken in sequential order.
